Sew Liberated's Gnome Messenger Bag

It's starting to be that time again. Tax free weekend was last weekend here in NC and teachers report back to school Friday, if you are not on the year round track. I always try to make myself something special when returning to school and this year is no different. Looking around my sewing room I found Sew Liberated's, Mischievous Gnome Messenger Bag pattern stuffed in the back of my pattern box. It had never been opened! I opened the pattern up and looked it over.
Next, I had to find what fabric to use. I had some Japanese fabric that I bought from the Fabric Bar Etsy shop. I had saved it for a rainy day and this was the perfect opportunity to use it. I gathered all of the supplies and cut all the pieces out. The instructions were very easy to follow and understand. I loved the simplicity of the design and I think I would like to incorporate that into my own patterns. I am rather short so I decided to make my strap adjustable. I found the hardware at 3D Pattern Paper. The 2" d-rings, 2" rectangle slider and 2" swivel hooks are perfect for the strap you make with the Mischievous Gnome Messenger Bag pattern. Also I added an extra bow to the front. I love how it turned out. Now all I need is a matching Pink Chalk Note Taker and Sew Spoiled Laptop Sleeve to go in my new Sew Liberated Mischievous Gnome Messenger Bag.

Hi SewSpoiled,
Thanks for sharing your amazing patterns and instructions on how to achive them.
Did you have a tutorial on sewing a twist dress too? A blue one, if I remember correctly.
I've spent the better of 4 hours searching this dress on the net.
Hoping to hear from you. Thanks.

Sweet Coin Purse Tutorial for Teacher Gifts

This time of year is so special to me because I get to show my gratitude for all of the hard work that goes into teaching my daughters. I love to make handmade gifts and this year is no exception. Since money does not grow on trees around here, I looked at my stash (I keep my scraps in hat boxes ) and tried to see what I had a lot of; small zippers, trims, Peltex strips ( from making iPad cases ), fabric scraps and some hardware for key fobs. So I set to work.  Materials: Plastic multipurpose 5" Zipper  Fabric Scraps Lightweight interfacing 808 Pellon Trims (We clipped  key fobs  with 1.5" swivel hooks onto our coin purses . There are tons of tutorials on making key fobs .) Step 1: Print out the Coin Purse Template  PDF.  Cut 2 main fabric, cut 2 lining and 2 interfacing using the template.  Optional: Cut a 2"X2" square of your choice main fabric or lining. This strip of fabric is used to clip a key fob to your coin purse later. We used a 1.5
